The work of the church performed by lay members is through a set of standing committees and other ad-hoc committees. This is a list of those that make up the Administrative Council of the church.
The Charge Conference and Administrative Council oversee the policies of our church and the other committees listed here. Members of the congregation serve on the committees on a rotating basis.
- CHARGE CONFERENCE
The annual meeting of the church congregation, the Charge Conference is the link between this church and the world-wide United Methodist Church.
- ADMINISTRATIVE COUNCIL
The governing and policy-making body of the church, made up of church leaders and representatives, committee chairpersons, and church staff.
- BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Responsible for financial holdings of the church and maintenance of major church assets including the church building and the parsonage.
- STAFF/PASTOR-PARISH RELATIONS (SPPRC) COMMITTEE
Works to maintain good relations among the pastor, staff, and congregation. Also involved when a new pastor is selected for the church.
- STEWARDSHIP AND FINANCE WORK AREA
Works to develop the use of God-given talents throughout the congregation, and is responsible for fund raising and encouragement of financial support by members of the church.
- CHRISTIAN EDUCATION WORK AREA
Responsible for the educational program in the church, including the selection of teachers and curriculum.
- MEMBERSHIP AND EVANGELISM WORK AREA
Works to build a sense of community among church members and to welcome new members into the church.
- MISSIONS AND SOCIAL CONCERNS WORK AREA
Pursues ministries and missions outside of the church, working to support our community and the world through the work of the church.
- WORSHIP AND FINE ARTS COMMITTEE
Works to enhance our worship service and church building, presenting the Word of God through music, art, drama, and dance.
- FLOWER COMMITTEE
Responsible for floral arrangements for church services and other church functions.
- MEMORIAL COMMITTEE
Responsible for approving projects to be financed with memorial funds.
- NOMINATIONS AND PERSONNEL COMMITTEE
Responsible for selection of church members to various positions of responsibility throughout the church.
