Dear Rome 1st UMC Family,
We are a few short days away from launching Worship Without Walls: Rome. I am excited to see where this adventure takes us. We will be at the Neighborhood Center on Dominick Street from noon to 1 p.m. every Tuesday. We will hand out sandwiches, water, Bibles, prayer stones, and more to anyone who comes by. Most importantly, we want to engage with people, get to know their stories, and pray with them.
Here is how you can get involved: We have sign up sheets in the lobby. One sheet is for making sandwiches the day of the event. We will gather at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning to make sandwiches, gather our materials and to pray before we head over to the Neighborhood Center at 11:45 a.m. The second sign up sheet is for anyone who wishes to join us at the Neighborhood Center. We will hand out sandwiches, talk with people who stop by, and pray with people. The idea is to remind people God loves them by telling them and showing them.
Also, I ask for your prayers for this ministry. I am praying that God will use us to help people to experience God’s love and to turn their lives over to God. I am also praying that God will use this ministry to deepen our own commitment to God and to grow more in love with God and our neighbors. I hope that you will join us. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Also – a great thanks to Dave Caldwell who is clear coating the cart we will be using for Worship Without Walls. A job well done.
In other news: Adult Sunday school is back on tomorrow. We will be discussing the teacher walkouts that have happened in other states. Next week we will discuss the importance of public schools. All FaithLink conversations seeking seek to understand the news headlines from a faith perspective. Join us at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow in the conference room! I have attached both this week’s and next week’s lesson to this email.
Enjoy this beautiful Saturday.
Grace and peace,
